1. Describe the main character in the play. What are they like? What were their personalities like?

The waiter: He is a Spaniard who has studied at the University. He studied Ambiental Sciences but he has never has worked in that field. He is optimistic. He sends money to his family in Spain.
Lucía: She is a young-Spanish girl who is studying at the University. Her parents have lots of money. They send her money but she wastes it.
Matthew: He is fdom Spain but hides hisborigin. He is in Liverpool because he was running away from his situation in Spain, so he abandoned his baby and his girlfriend.
José: He wants to find a job in Liverpool. It is hard for him to learn or imlrove his English.
Marta: She wants to improve her good English and find a job. Her boyfriend is José. She has studied in a private school.
Macarena: She doesn't talk very well English. She might be Matthew's daughter. She went to prison because she fell on a trick about drugs for a woman's fault. She finally was left free.
The bad woman: She has a bussiness drugs dealer, she lies to people for doing the dirty job, the dirty part while she earns money. She lied to Marta and Macarena.

2. Write a brief summary of the people.

Everybody thinks that living abroad is a chance we can't lose, that is a good exprience and that you will find surely a good job. But the plot shows the realistic point of view. A couple and a woman go to Liverpool to improve the language and find a job. But a bussiness woman lied them and gave them a backpack of drugs so they went to jail. But theis Spanish friends helped them to be released from prison. And they lived happy back in Spain.

3. Give your opinion, favourite character or part. Why?

Yes, I liked because it was realostic and confident. What I loved most was the part of humour included in some parts of the plot.

Gertrude Ederle

GERTRUDE EDERLE

In June 1925, Gertrude Ederle, a nineteen-year-old New Yorker tried to swim from France to England. Only five people had done it before, they were all men. When she got exhausted six and half miles from the English coast, her helpers had to pull out of the sea. She failed, and people said that a woman could never swim long distances, that they are inferior atheltes, and that women's sports were a waste of time. But just one year later, Gertrude tried again. She had more troubles than the last time but she completed the 35 miles in a record time of 14 hours and 31 minutes. When she returned to the USA, 2 million people were on the streets to welcome her. She was a true heroine.

WOMEN THROUGH HISTORY

In the 19th  century European women couldn't vote. In 1903 two women founded a group to campaign for wome 's votes because they believed that women xhould have the same rights as men. When z petition to the Prime Minister was ignored, thry started protesting on the streets... and they even went to prison for their actions. But during the First World War, women did men's job, and showed that they could do them just as well. In 1918 women over the age of thirty were allowed to vote. Ten years later, all British women over eighteen could vote but in some countries women had to wait. Nowadays women can vote snd work but tjey still experience discrimination becsuse they don't receive equal pay for the same job.

My life

I was born in a small village of Girona in 1998. I grew up surrounded by cats, cocks, rabbits... because we lived in a house near the field with a small own farm. My esrliest memory is when I was crying because my sister started the school before me and I wanted to go with her, then I was 3 o 4 years old. I still remember things I did on nursery school. I remember that my teacher's name was Anna and she sang to the class once a week plsying the guitar. I also remember when we were staying in the queue for enter the class and because of the cold wind tears were streaming down my face. At the nursery school we talked Catalan but at home we talked Spanish. When I was 6 years old we moved to Malaga because we have family there and my grandparents were very ill.
I think I have changed a lot since I was younger; I think everybody does. When I finish secondary school I want to work as a translator.
Before I am old I really want to have good marks and to come true to my objectives.

Malala

                              MALALA YOUSAFZAI


In October 2012, Malala Yousafzai became the target of Thalibans in Pakistan. She was shot for supporting of girls to go to school.
After the attack, she -that is 16 years old- moved to Birmingham, United Kingdom with her family. There, she is recovering, while se is going on with a campaing for education. She iss a model for other young people.
After her recovery she said: 'Now I can move my face, I can smile'
